“We could be looking at a huge mess and a real wrench in holiday travel,” AccuWeather Chief Meteorologist Jon Porter said

As the holiday season gets underway this year, AccuWeather expert meteorologists are available for comment on how weather could play a disruptive role for those hitting the road or taking to the air to connect with loved ones for many, for the first time in months.

Specifically, what can people do to avoid:

  • Weather-related Supply Chain Disruptions
    • What consumers and industry leaders should expect as demand goes up and disruptive winter weather sets in.
  • Holiday Travel
    • Airport conditions
    • Ground conditions
    • “Insider” Tips from AccuWeather Expert Meteorologists
  • Holiday Shopping
    • When is the best time to order or go out to buy gifts
    • What to expect regarding deliveries
    • Weather “hot spots” that may impact timely arrivals
  • Holiday Destination Planning
    • Going somewhere? What to expect when planning to get away

AccuWeather meteorologists are cautioning that a major storm could prove disruptive for millions of Americans who are planning to get a head start on Thanksgiving travel. The concern forecasters have is that a significant storm could rapidly strengthen and cause a host of disruptions from the Midwest to portions of the Great Lakes, interior Northeast and mid-Atlantic over the weekend and the days before Thanksgiving.
