The temporary flights between Bogotá and Valencia are more than an operational adjustment. They respond to an urgent need for mobility, relief and connection at a moment when thousands of Venezuelans are facing one of the most painful emergencies in recent years. Avianca’s decision to open this route, even for a limited period, supports families, rescue teams and humanitarian organizations that must move quickly as the situation evolves.

As a Venezuelan with family in the country, I am also deeply affected by this tragedy. Like many, I am living the uncertainty, the worry and the constant search for reliable information. Measures like this one matter because they provide access, options and a sense of support when everything else feels unstable.

This route extension is a practical response to an extraordinary moment, and it reflects the importance of keeping channels open for those who need to travel, assist or reunite.
