Emergency Mileage Relief Venezuela – Avianca Lifemiles initiative

Editorial Note — Soraya Alcalá

Avianca Lifemiles’ expanded emergency initiative reflects a rare alignment between corporate capability and humanitarian urgency. By doubling member mileage donations, the program transforms a loyalty mechanism into a direct channel for relief, enabling medical and rescue teams to reach affected areas faster. What distinguishes this effort is its measurable impact: a clear, traceable contribution at a moment when Venezuela requires rapid mobilization of technical expertise and essential care. In an industry where announcements often remain symbolic, this initiative stands out for its precision, its immediacy, and its commitment to communities facing critical need.

In response to the emergency following the earthquakes that affected Venezuela on Wednesday, June 24, Avianca announces a mileage donation campaign through its Lifemiles loyalty program to support relief efforts and help transport medical and rescue teams responding to the crisis.

The campaign will be managed through the Mileage Bank, which collects miles donated by Lifemiles members. The initiative helps mobilize technical expertise, professional resources and primary care in high-priority situations, creating social, environmental and humanitarian impact.

Through this 15-day initiative supporting Venezuela, Avianca and Lifemiles will match the miles donated by Lifemiles members, doubling their contributions and helping cover transportation for rescue workers and medical teams responding to the emergency. Every donated mile will be matched, expanding the initiative’s impact as part of the airline’s broader emergency response efforts.

Important Information About the Initiative:

  • Campaign Period: June 26 through July 10, 2026
  • There is no minimum mileage donation requirement.
  • Donated miles are nonrefundable and nontransferable. Only donations made through lifemiles.com/donate-miles will be valid and are nonrefundable and nontransferable.
