GRAMMY AWARDS 2026
VegasInsider.com has compiled a list of more than 50 potential records that could be broken at the 2026 Grammy Awards. Given your previous coverage of the Grammys, this data may be particularly relevant to your reporting.
Among the standout possibilities, Kendrick Lamar is positioned to surpass Jay‑Z’s career total of 25 Grammys and become the most awarded rapper in the history of the ceremony. He also has the potential to tie the all‑time record for most wins in a single night—eight—currently held by Michael Jackson and Santana.
Several other major milestones could also be reached. Lady Gaga may break the record for the most Grammys won in one night by a female artist, a title currently shared by Adele and Beyoncé with six wins each. Bruno Mars, nominated for “APT.,” could become the first artist to win Record of the Year four times, while Billie Eilish, nominated for “WILDFLOWER,” could become the first woman to win the category three times.
In the general field, Bad Bunny’s Debí Tirar Más Fotos could make history as the first Spanish‑language album to win Album of the Year. Additionally, “DTMF” could become the first Spanish‑language song to win both Record of the Year and Song of the Year, and only the second non‑English song to win either category since 1959’s Italian‑language “Nel blu, dipinto di blu (Volare).”
OVERALL RECORDS
- Kendrick Lamar could break Jay-Z’s record and become the most awarded rapper of all time at the Grammys – as of now, Jay-Z has won 25 Grammys while Lamar has won 22 Grammys, but he is nominated for 9 more awards in 2026, so by winning 4 or more Grammys, he would break Jay-Z’s record
- Kendrick Lamar could tie Michael Jackson & Santana’s record for the most Grammys won in one night – Jackson won 8 awards at the 1984 Grammys, Santana won 8 awards at the 2000 Grammys and Lamar is nominated for 9 awards at the 2026 ceremony (however, two of those nominations are in the same category, meaning Lamar can win a maximum of eight awards unless there is an unprecedented tie in that category)
- Lady Gaga could break Adele & Beyoncé’s record for the most Grammys won in one night by a female artist – both Adele & Beyoncé managed to win 6 awards in one night and Gaga is nominated for 7 Grammys at the 2026 ceremony
- Bad Bunny, Sabrina Carpenter or Lady Gaga have a chance to join 8 other artists who managed to win Record, Song & Album Of The Year Grammys in one evening
- Jack Antonoff could join Christopher Cross, Billie Eilish & Adele and become only the fourth individual to win all 4 major categories at the Grammys – he won in the Best New Artist category as a member of the group Fun, he won Song Of The Year for co-writing Fun’s “We Are Young”, he won Album Of The Year 3 times for co-producing Taylor Swift’s “1989”, “folklore” & “Midnights” and he has two chances to win Record Of The Year at the 2026 Grammys for co-producing Kendrick Lamar & SZA’s “Luther” and Sabrina Carpenter’s “Manchild”
