Botox Still Tops The World’s Most-Searched Aesthetic Treatments

From the UK’s Botox boom to the UAE’s obsession with regenerative injectables, new global data reveals how the world is redefining beauty.

New analysis of Google search data has revealed the world’s most in-demand aesthetic treatments, with Botox topping global searches at over 3 million a month in the US alone – but regenerative treatments like polynucleotide injections, thread lifts, and IV drips are showing explosive year-on-year growth across multiple markets.

The data, analysed by beauty and wellness booking platform Fresha, compares search trends across the UK, US, UAE, and Australia, uncovering how beauty priorities shift by region.

Lesser-Known Things About Botox

1.Botox was originally used to stop eye spasms

Long before the beauty industry got hold of it, Botox was approved to treat strabismus and uncontrollable eye twitching. The wrinkle benefit was discovered accidentally.

2. It can stop migraines for up to three months

Many people don’t realise it’s one of the most effective treatments for chronic migraine because it “switches off” pain pathways around the head and neck.

3. It can reduce sweating in tiny, targeted areas

You can treat just the upper lip, the back of the knees, even the under-boob area — not just armpits and palms. Hyper-local anti-sweat injections are becoming a quiet trend.

4. It can stop teeth grinding and slim the lower face

Masseter Botox isn’t just cosmetic. It reduces jaw clenching, prevents enamel wear, and can soften a square jawline — which is why it’s one of the fastest-growing requests globally.

5. It can help with a “gummy smile”

A micro-dose above the lip can stop the top lip pulling too far upwards when smiling. Many patients get this before events or photoshoots.

6. It can lift the corners of the mouth

The Depressor Anguli Oris (DAO) muscle can be relaxed to counteract “resting downturned mouth” — a tiny tweak most people don’t realise is possible.

7. Botox can help with depression symptoms

There’s emerging evidence that relaxing the frown muscles disrupts the feedback loop associated with negative emotional expression. Not a cure — but an active area of research.

8. You can treat ‘orange peel’ chin texture

Dimpled chin caused by overactive mentalis muscle can be smoothed with just 1–2 small injections.

9. It can stop hairline sweating during styling

Hairdressers increasingly request this for clients who sweat during blow-dries or under studio lights.

10. Micro-Botox can improve skin texture

This isn’t the same as standard Botox. It’s superfine, superficial dosing to soften pores, reduce oiliness and give a subtle “glass skin” effect — popular in Asia and now trending in the UK.

11. It can calm rosacea flushing

Tiny doses in specific regions can reduce the intensity of flushing episodes by blocking acetylcholine in blood vessels.

12. Botox can help with ‘tech neck’ banding

Horizontal neck lines from looking down at screens are now one of the most common treatment areas.
