PORTLAND
Book Lovers
Rose City Comic Con returns in early September to Portland and teams up once again with Portland’s iconic Powell’s Books to present its annual Book Fair.
Fans can look forward to meetups for book lovers, a select number of limited Advanced Readers’ Copies, as well as dynamic panel conversations featuring some of today’s most exciting authors, offering insights into their creative process and the publishing industry.
Each panel will be followed directly by an author signing featuring the authors from that panel.
Best-selling and award-winning voices
This year’s literary line-up is a powerhouse mix of best-selling and award-winning voices in fantasy and science fiction. Guests include Hugo and Nebula Award winner Charlie Jane Anders (All the Birds in the Sky), best-selling and award-winning author John Scalzi (Old Man’s War), Lambda Literary Award winner Ryka Aoki (Light From Uncommon Stars), and fan-favorite T. Kingfisher, known for her whimsical and darkly enchanting tales like Swordheart and Nettle & Bone. Also appearing are Aiden Thomas, author of the breakout hit Cemetery Boys; Casey McQuiston, the best-selling voice behind Red, White & Royal Blue; and Terry Brooks, legendary creator of the iconic Shannara series. Dynamic talents, including Rachel Gillig (The Knight and the Moth), Nia “N.E.” Davenport (The Blood Trials), Makiia Lucier (Dragonfruit), Gabriella Buba, and Isa Agajanian round out the weekend.
“We are excited to be bringing together some of the most celebrated and groundbreaking voices in fantasy and science fiction for our Rose City Comic Con fans,” commented Lauren Dabb, Event Director of Rose City Comic Con. “We’re especially proud to be partnering with Powell’s Books for the third year in a row to create a one-of-a-kind Book Fair experience that highlights both beloved bestsellers and bold new voices.”
Books for all author guests are available for preorder at rosecitycomiccon.com/book-fair.
At the event, fans who purchase a John Scalzi title at the official RCCC Bookstore powered by Powell’s Books will receive a free ARC of his upcoming book The Shattering Peace, while supplies last!
