Olga Pericet does not simply perform flamenco—she reshapes it. Her arrival in New York with Baile Sonoro is more than a tour stop; it is a statement of artistic identity. Pericet has built a career on precision, risk, and a deep respect for the roots of Spanish dance, while fearlessly pushing its boundaries.
Baile Sonoro reflects that duality: a work where silence becomes choreography, light becomes rhythm, and the body becomes a narrative instrument. In an industry that often rewards predictability, Pericet insists on evolution. Her presence in NYC elevates the cultural landscape and reminds us why true artistry still matters.

The acclaimed Spanish artist presents a powerful fusion of tradition, innovation, and contemporary flamenco in New York City

New York, NY —

With only one week until the highly anticipated premiere of Baile Sonoro, production photos have been released, offering a first glimpse into the visceral, high-tension world of Spanish National Dance Prize winner Olga Pericet. The production opens next Friday, May 22, for a strictly limited nine-performance run at the historic Repertorio Español.

The newly released images capture the «dance concert» atmosphere of the piece—a deliberate departure from traditional flamenco recitals. Pericet is seen in a constant, kinetic dialogue with guitarist José Manuel León and singer Mercedes Cortés, illustrating the «three bodies» in synchronization that form the heart of the work.

A DIALOGUE OF SOUND AND BODY

Baile Sonoro (Sonorous Dance) is described by Pericet as an «open studio to infinite possibilities.» Unlike a standard performance in which music supports the dance, this work treats the guitar and vocals as physical forces that shape, challenge, and drive the dancer’s momentum in real time.

«I want to use the so-called ‘Flamenco recital’ to give it a new personal twist,» says Olga Pericet. «To find, if they exist, uninhabited spaces.»
