For Venezuelans living abroad, the reactivation of international routes to the country carries an emotional significance grounded in reality rather than nostalgia. Venezuela continues to face political instability, institutional deterioration, and limited commercial air operations — even with U.S. support and the implementation of the three phases long awaited by Venezuelans. These conditions forced millions to migrate and rely on complex, multi‑stop itineraries to maintain family and personal connections.
Avianca’s decision aligns with the gradual reactivation of regional connectivity as airlines respond to the sustained demand of the Venezuelan diaspora, one of the largest in the world. This route emerges as a practical response to a real need, shaped by the political and economic conditions that continue to define Venezuelan mobility.

The airline strengthens connectivity between Colombia and Venezuela with a new nonstop service
Miami, Fl,
Avianca has officially announced the opening of ticket sales for its new direct route between Bogotá and Maracaibo, which will operate with a daily frequency. This initiative aims to significantly strengthen connectivity between Colombia and Venezuela, directly contributing to commercial, tourism, social, and business exchange at a key moment of openness and new opportunities within the Venezuelan economy.
The new Bogotá–Maracaibo–Bogotá route will be operated using modern Airbus A320 aircraft, offering 180 seats per flight. This translates to an additional capacity of 2,500 seats per week, strategically complementing the company’s current operations in the country, which already include two daily flights between Bogotá and Caracas.
Through this new aerial bridge, Avianca customers will not only reach the Colombian capital directly but will also gain immediate access to Avianca’s robust global network, facilitating seamless connections to more than 80 destinations across the Americas and Europe.
New Route Schedules:

«It is worth mentioning that Avianca has spent more than 106 years connecting countries, stories, cultures, and traditions, always prioritizing safety in its operations. In Venezuela, this commitment is reflected in more than six decades of presence, consolidating its role in strengthening connectivity between both countries,» the airline highlighted.
Tickets for this new route are now available to the public through official channels: the website avianca.com, the mobile application, physical points of sale, travel agencies, and the Contact Center.
