Tanuki Restaurant Is Opening On Sunday On The Miami River

A Culinary Star Opens at River Landing Shops’ Restaurant Row on the Miami River west of Downtown Miami

Miami, Fla.

The culinary landscape of Miami is about to get even more vibrant with the opening of Tanuki, the first ‘white tablecloth’ restaurant at River Landing Shops & Residences. Recognized as one of Miami’s best modern Asian restaurants, Tanuki is set to elevate the dining experience along the Miami River.

“Tanuki is a key addition to the lifestyle that River Landing Shops & Residences offers its residents, office tenants, shoppers and visitors,” said Andrew Hellinger, co-partner of Coral Gables-based Urban-X Group, the developer behind the 2.2 million-square-foot development owned by Canada-based H&R REIT. “Tanuki has created an intimate and inviting environment by incorporating nature in its design with lush landscaping and outdoor seating on the water.”

Tanuki will occupy a prime location on River Landing Shops’ 25,500-square-foot restaurant row, a cornerstone dining destination in Miami. This marks a significant milestone in the development of the riverfront area, adding another layer of experience to River Landing Shops & Residences as a premier location for fine dining.

“River Landing Shops & Residences is proud to welcome Tanuki, the first fine dining experience in our restaurant row,” said Coralee Penabad, co-partner of Urban-X Group. “Tanuki’s opening adds a new depth to our culinary offerings and we’re excited for our community to indulge in their delicacies from all corners of Asia. Guests can enjoy Tanuki’s signature cocktails and delicious food while sitting on the patio watching boats go by on the Miami River. Our dream of making the River accessible for all to enjoy has become a reality.”

Open seven days a week, Tanuki offers dinner, a daily happy hour, and a unique “Dim Sum Sundays” brunch. Patrons can savor the best of Japanese and Chinese food with a modern twist, coupled with Asian fusion specialty cocktails in a casual, yet hip environment.

With the opening of Tanuki, River Landing Shops is now 94% occupied. River Landing Shops’ diverse and unique group of tenants includes national, local and regional retailers and restaurants such as ManCave for Men, Miami Optical Boutique, Publix Supermarkets, Planet Fitness, Old Navy, Ulta Beauty, Ross Dress For Less, Burlington Stores, Hobby Lobby, Five Below, Chase Bank, AT&T, Pediatric Dental Center, Aspen Dental, Publix Liquors, Chick-fil-A, Lime Fresh Mexican Grill, P.Pole Pizza, Carrot Express, CKO Boxing Gym, Ficelle Boulangerie & Patisserie, and the Charter Agency.

It is also home to Capsule, an indoor curated retail destination for makers and shoppers, offering a diverse selection of handmade goods, boutique finds, specialty items and more. Capsule offers local small retailpreneurs a physical presence at an affordable cost with flexible lease terms. The 4,000-square-foot space provides curated local sellers with their own interior kiosk space and access to dressing rooms, restrooms and wifi.

Strategically located between downtown Miami and Miami International Airport, River Landing Shops & Residences continues to meet the growing demand for quality retail, dining, and lifestyle services, while offering an experience that can’t be replicated by online shopping.

River Landing consists of approximately 360,000 square feet of retail/commercial space, 135,000 square feet of Class A office, 528 market-rate apartments, more than 2,000 parking spaces and a landscaped Riverwalk. It is accessible by boat, close to two Metrorail stations, Miami’s Trolley system, and the crossroads of Miami-Dade’s main thoroughfares: Interstate 95 and State Road 836.
