During the 2026 Valentine’s Day season, Avianca Cargo reaffirms its leadership as the top carrier of Colombian flowers to the United States, transporting more than 19,000 tons of flowers and achieving 6% growth compared with the previous year.
Throughout the season, Avianca Cargo operated close to 320 cargo flights, transporting over 19.000 tons of flowers to key hubs like Miami and Los Angeles. To support this increased volume, the airline invested in infrastructure enhancements, digitalization projects, and a more than 30% increase in workforce, enabling it to successfully deliver on its value proposition.
This result was made possible through a reinforced operation supported by a joint fleet of nine freighter aircraft, operated in coordination with Avianca Cargo Mexico.

Key Logistics & Operational Achievements in the U.S.
AVIANCA
This season, Avianca Cargo achieved significant milestones in its U.S. operations, further solidifying its leadership in flower transportation:
- Secured the #1 position in flower transportation from Colombia to the U.S
- Workforce increased by more than 30% during the season, with specialized teams deployed to critical hubs to support uninterrupted U.S. imports.
- Cold-chain integrity maintained end to end, with flowers handled in temperature-controlled zones, internal coolers maintained between 4–8°C, and dispatched primarily on aircraft with temperature-controlled holds.
- Operated around 320 freighter flights over 22 days.
- We delivered over 40% growth in Los Angeles and 4% growth in Miami.
- On the peak day of the 2026 season, we handled close to one flight per hour and received more than 1,300 tons in Miami.
