Set in a small, sleepy Texas town during the 1970s, “Theophany” tells the compelling true story of a young woman facing a hopeless diagnosis who receives a miracle that transforms her life and touches the hearts of everyone around her. At its core, the musical delivers a powerful reminder: “HOPE SAYS BELIEVE IN WHAT HASN’T HAPPENED…YET!”
The premiere of “Theophany” features a remarkable lineup of acclaimed performers, including Jake Hoot (The Voice Season 17 winner; duet with Kelly Clarkson, “I Would’ve Loved You”), Becca Bowen (“Son of A Gun,” “Heartbreaking Business,” and winner of For Love or Likes Season 5 on the Outdoor Channel), Al Sapienza (Mickey Palmice from “The Soprano”), and Deborah Rennard (Sly from Dallas).
Also gracing the stage is “American Idol” alum Megan Knight, who has been featured on CMT and Rolling Stone, written for Rascal Flatts, Kid Rock, and Martina McBride, and opened for country legends Blake Shelton, Tim McGraw, George Strait, and Trace Adkins.
The music and lyrics for Theophany are by Jamie Floyd, a three-time Grammy-nominated composer and acclaimed songwriter behind “The Blade,” recorded by Ashley Monroe. Floyd also contributed to the show’s arrangements, adding her signature touch to this inspiring production.
- “Theophany” is created and directed by Pat Denson, known for the off-Broadway play “Little Christmas Miracles” (hailed as one of the Top 10 Shows to See during the holidays in 2021 by Time Out).
The production team includes music producers Jimmy Thow and Pat Holt, with G.D. Denson serving as producer and Nathan DeMarco-Jacobson as co-producer. The story, penned by Ryan Paul James (Little Christmas Miracles, Lost in Radioland), brings this inspiring tale to life.
The cast is rounded out by a talented ensemble including Clint Alpin, Paige Barnes, Emma Singleton, Lynne Carlock, Tyler Tillman, Jolie Brandstein, and Tessa Cullen.
