Names.org today released its predictions for the Most Popular Baby Names of 2021
The list is determined by combining the latest data on births recorded by the Social Security Administration — which currently is through 2019 – along with trends from recent years and user interest on Names.org.
In both 2018 and 2019, Names.org predicted nine of the top 10 boy names and 10 out of 10 top girl names accurately once official numbers were released by the Social Security Administration. Official numbers for 2020 are not yet available to compare to our predictions.
For boys, Liam and Noah took the top two spots, while Henry and Mateo made it into the top 10 for the first time.
Top 10 Most Popular Names for Boys:
Honorable mentions: Sebastian, Levi, and Theodore are just outside the top 10, rising in popularity and expected to make the list in the coming years. Miles, Luca, Theodore, Leo, and Maverick are the fasting growing names for boys.
For girls, Olivia and Emma took the top two spots, while Amelia made a jump from No. 7 last year to No. 3 this year.

Honorable mentions: Luna, Camila, Penelope, and Aria are just outside the top 10, rising in popularity and expected to make the list in the coming years. Luna, Emilia, Willow, Isla, and Violet are the fastest growing names for girls.
