JUANES releases “Una Noche Contigo” (‘One Night With You’) – a first advance single from his upcoming and eagerly awaited 12th album. While the iconic musician’s critically praised and multiple award winning 2023 ‘VIDA COTIDIANA’ album reflected his most introspective work (examining evolving adult perspectives during the gray or dark times), “Una Noche Contigo” quickly signals a new brighter creative cycle that finds JUANES continuing to evolve his sound, while returning again to his heartfelt lyrical focus on the way many facets of love are the driving force in our life.
And in the case of today’s first single release, JUANES provides a classic serenade on finding a lifetime love in the flash of an unexpected moment – but with musical influences taken from one of the world’s greatest R&B soul singers, the most legendary rock band of all, and a generation of iconic Mexican balladeers:
“In 1962, Otis Redding released a song called ‘These Arms of Mine.’ I wasn’t even born yet, but Sebastián Krys played me the recording, and I was immedietly inspired. Then came a songwriting session with Edgar Barrera, and some lyrical editing with Julio Reyes, until we finally got into the studio to produce it with Nico Cotton. The result is ‘Una Noche Contigo,’ a completely new sound for me—one that feels like a perfect balance. It’s something fresh for my music, yet it evokes those vintage and romantic vibes I love so much—something I’ve always found in José José, Juan Gabriel, and The Beatles, and that has deeply inspired me.” – JUANES
Since JUANES’ previously set tour schedule saw him visit Mexico’s renowned Auditorio Nacional for a SOLD-OUT concert two weeks ago, JUANES delighted the capital city audience with an unexpected live premiere of “Una Noche Contigo” upon the very stage Juan Gabriel and José José had performed hundreds of shows.
“Una Noche Contigo”
While JUANES’ “Una Noche Contigo” produced by Nico Cotton (Credits: Natalia Lafourcade, Morat, Ca7riel & More) is sure to become embraced by fans alongside many of JUANES’ chart-topping and now timeless classic ballads, he also has teamed up with standout young Colombian-American video director STILLZ (Cannes Lion Winner/ Credits: Bad Bunny, Rosalía, Omar Apollo & More) to create an instantly memorable, facial recognition dreamscape video that, when fading back to reality, wonders about those who we may not see right in front of us. The video characters also are the basis for the single’s cover art, which was designed and created by JUANES himself.
Look for more news shortly on additional new music from JUANES arriving over the coming months.
