Novela (Novel) is a great musical oeuvre that the Argentine icon Fito Paez began writing in 1988 and culminates in 2024, will be available on March 27th, 2025.
The album features 25 unreleased songs that tell a magical story with original characters of rebellious and passionate spirit. The scenario is a particular town in Santa Fe (Argentina), where a freak circus arrives and revolutionizes the lives of its inhabitants.
“Superextraño” (Superstrange), is the second advance from Novela. The first single narrated a key moment of the story, precisely, “Cuando el circo llega al pueblo” (When the circus comes to town). In that line of revelations, “Superextraño” bursts in when something huge is about to happen: the protagonists Jimmy and Loka see each other for the first time.
Song number 12 in the album’s track list, and the crux of Novela. As the narration advances between moments of darkness and the development of the character’s gallery (everyone knows something they don’t say), enhancing the uncertainty about the secrets of Jok, Julius, Loka’s mom and the desire, Maldivia and Turbialuz acomplish their initial goal: Jimmy and Loka crossing paths. And as it is the moment where love should awaken, with the two witches flying while surrounding the couple, other turbulent scenes, with doubts and mistrust, are ahead.
“Superextraño” sets the stage for the most intense moments of this incredible story. The track’s release is accompanied by an original lyric video designed and produced by Cornáscavia Estudio and produced by Antiestático.
Novela is a great musical and cinematographic work, which, in chaotic, complicated and discouraged times, takes us into a world of illusions and love. With the excuse of telling how learning to live in a remote village in the province of Santa Fe (Argentina) affected young people -and his own life-, Fito Paez created a magical universe that is discovered in film and album format.
