Cuban digital entrepreneurs and innovators, along with other local and international leaders, will meet in Miami on November 7-8, for the second annual Cuba Internet Freedom (CIF).

Speakers and guests will analyze the current state of connectivity in Cuba, discuss innovations to provide connectivity to the island and examine the benefits that come with unlimited Internet access.

The Miami Ad School, in the Wynwood Art District, will serve as the setting for the two-day conference. This year, the students from the institute will participate through a contest to design a commemorative poster.

CIF’s theme this year is “The link to unlimited possibilities” and discussion topics will include the ingenuity of Cuban mobile apps, the island’s most popular social media platforms, independent journalism, and the role of internet access for globalization.

This year’s conference will also include an important conversation on the current crisis in Venezuela and how the government’s control of Internet access is affecting citizens there.

A private ceremony to welcome CIF’s speakers and recognize the creativity and ingenuity of Cuban digital innovators will be held at the Cubaocho Museum & Performing Arts Center, in Little Havana, on Monday, November 6.

CIF2017 is organized by the Office of Cuba Broadcasting (OCB), which oversees Radio and TV Martí, and is part of the Board of Governors of Broadcasting (BBG).

CIF2017 is free and open to the public. Those interested in attending can register at: https://cif-2017.eventbrite.com. Follow CIF @CubaIF
